Hindustan
Bible Institute
The Hindustan Bible Institute
was founded by Dr. Paul
Gupta, Sr. over forty-five
years ago. Today, the
strategic ministries of
HBI have expanded within
the 10/40 window due to
the vision of his son,
Dr. Paul R. Gupta (Bobby),
President of HBI, and
the generous outpouring
of the Holy Spirit.
The vision of HBI is to
see a church in every
town and city in India,
so every Indian will have
an opportunity to hear,
understand, respond, and
be discipled into a community
of believers. Their strategy
is to mobilize the church
to reach the unreached
and equip national leaders
to accomplish this vision.
Peninsula supports these
five Indian Pastors through
Hindustan Bible Institute.

Prayer Letter
Dear Friends,
Greeting to you in the
precious name of our Lord
and Saviour Jesus Christ!
First of all, Linnet
and I want to say thank
you so very much
for joining us to be missionaries
in India to fulfill the
purpose, vision and strategies
of Hindustan Bible Institute.
As
a result of your investment,
in the last 23 months,
we had the opportunity
to proclaim the Gospel
to over 300 million people.
Out of this group, 198,239
people responded
to that message and indicated
an interest to know more
about Jesus Christ, 14,187
people said “yes”
to Jesus and 8,756
were added to the church.
God planted 305
new churches in
the last 23 months (April
2003-2004), on an average
5-6 churches a week.
Your investment trained,
1924 leaders through
the various training programs
within the context of
formal and non-formal
training and envisioned
809
pastor leaders
who equipped and mobilized
their local churches for
evangelism, church planting
and missions. In addition
1,354
individuals committed
to be involved in mobilizing
prayer through their local
churches. Praise the Lord!
This year we had the privilege
of initiating three regional
centers – one in
Rajasthan,
another in West Bengal
and the third in Andhra
Pradesh. All three are
now off the ground along
with our Bhopal Center
equipping national leaders
in the various regions
of India. Our vision is
to have 6 more centers
and each center will make
a commitment to reach
30 people groups in that
region and develop 10
sub-centers to equip national
leaders to target the
un-reached people groups.
Your support and prayers
for Linnet and me make
a significant difference.
Thank you for giving and
helping us to be God’s
instruments in serving
in India.
Sushil writes, “I
have been living in London
since last year, working
on an MBA. I have finished
three terms and am about
to start the fourth and
final term. So far, I
have done pretty well
and am able to learn some
information that should
be valuable in the future.
I have also enjoyed my
time here in London as
I discover more about
who I am as a person.
I have had the opportunity
to travel to a few surrounding
countries and as I write
this, I am actually in
Scotland . I have begun
searching for job opportunities
to pursue once I graduate
from with my masters.
I am hoping to stay in
the London area, and my
dean has offered to help
me find a job. If I am
unable to find a job here,
I will be returning to
the states. Please pray
that I will seek the Lord’s
will in determining the
next step in my life.”
Deepak writes, “Hi,
I am living in South Carolina
. I want to be a pilot.
I tell you being up in
the air is exciting as
well as expensive after
a while. But God provides
each time in His own way.
At the moment I am aiming
to get my private pilot
license by this December
2004. I go to a local
church where the fellowship
of believers is great.
I also play the bass guitar
on some Sundays with the
worship team each month.
I also work for UPS a
courier company well known
in the world. Please pray
for patience to complete
my aviation course. Pray
for my non-Christian friends
that I will show Jesus
through my life. Pray
that I will find a second
job. I would live to hear
from you all and my email
address is deepakgupta136@readiffmail.com.
Linnet is busy looking
after the Networking Department
coordinating and hosting
short term teams from
the U.S. and she is also
involved in mobilizing
the women in our church.
We invest our time in
developing individuals
and I am working with
two groups of college
students— one is
to equip them in various
skills in different aspect
of the ministry of the
church. I also meet with
an accountability group
and have 15 final year
Master of Theology students,
helping them to get ready
to launch into the ministry
and also to enhance their
ability to develop character
and skill. We also have
the joy of leading a cell
group in our home and
mentoring individuals
to be cell elders and
assistant cell elders.
Probably the greatest
enjoyment for me is developing
individuals in our church
to learn to preach and
to mentor them through
the process and release
them to be part of our
teaching team in our new
Calvary Church.
THANK YOU FOR BEING A
GREAT BLESSING TO THE
GUPTAS.
We would love to hear
from you.
