Quest, a summer discipleship and musical for kids!

Quest is a fun discipleship program for children finishing 1st grade – 5th Grade in June 2008 who are ready to take the next step in their walk with God. This summer we will discover what the Bible says about who God is and how we relate to Him.

He is our Creator
He is our Righteous Judge
He is our Price of Peace
He is our Shepherd
He is our King
He is our Shield
He is our Father

As we grow in our understanding of who God is we then rightly relate to Him in all His fullness. You see, God is not the grandfather in the sky who gives us everything we want. Nor is He the condemning finger-wager who is waiting to strike us with lightning. This summer we will be looking at metaphors from the Bible which paint a radiant picture of God and His relationship with us. So the name “The King and I”!

Along with a terrific program the kids rehearse a musical. This summer’s musical is called "Splash Kingdom”. Splash Kingdom is the story of a group of kids, represented by a variety of characters, who try to gain entrance to a local water park (Splash Kingdom) only to find that they need to make reservations 'personally' with the CEO, Jesus Christ. Following the text book for 'Lifesaving 101' (the Bible) they discover the 'ABC's of Salvation' and ultimately have their names added to the Book of Life, gaining entrance to Splash Kingdom (heaven).

Who can attend Quest?
Quest is for students who have completed 1st up through 5th grade by June 2008. (Those finishing 6th-8th grades can participate as helpers and can be in the musical) Senior High Youth through Adults can help as group leaders.

When does Quest meet?
Quest meets every Thursday, 1:30-4:30 pm, July—August. The week of August 18 is reserved for additional musical rehearsals with the presentation of the musical Sunday, August 24 at 5:00 pm.

How do I sign up for Quest?
Registration will begin on Sunday, May 18th for PCC attenders only. If you attend PCC and want to be assured that you will get a spot (last year we maxed out!), make sure to sign up right away!

Beginning on Monday, May 19th, registration will be open to the community.

Deadline for registration is Sunday, June 8th.

To REGISTER for Quest and/or VBS print and fill out the Registration Form and the Medical Release Form and include a check for $35/child. Bring this to the church office or mail it to the church. Check should be made out to "PCC".

How much does Quest cost?
$35/child (Includes everything! Tee-shirt, CD of the musical, snacks, materials, etc.) Video of the show on August 24th is an additional $10.

How can adults be involved in Quest?
We're glad you asked! If you would love to help kids grow in their walk with Jesus (or maybe even begin one!) just email Pastor Bruce. We need small group leaders for each age group, as well as help in every other area--snacks, choir, games, activities/crafts, etc.
