"Do
you like to talk, go out
to lunch, meet new friends
and do something for someone
in need at the same time?
This is all possible on
the 3rd Tuesday of each
month at the ladies' White
Cross meetings. Everyone
is welcome!
At Christmas its great
fun to participate in
the assembling of gender
appropriate gifts for
the men, women and children
at the Long Beach Rescue
Mission. Some of the items
included in the beautifully
hand made Christmas socks
are: shaving gear, tooth
brushes and tooth paste,
shampoo, soap, combs,
lotions, hats, gloves,
scarves, jewelry, hair
ornaments, candy and small
surprises. At this time,
we also bake hundreds
of cookies and create
stuffed toys and dolls
for the World Opportunity
children in the inner
city. Each gift encloses
a scripture verse and
is prepared with loving
hearts and hands.
At Easter over 375 small
baskets of cookies and
candy were put together
for World Opportunity.
Also 125+ large baskets
filed with lovely stuffed
animals, candy and gifts
were made for the Mission.
There were also cuddly
stuffed animals for the
many babies who are brought
to the mission and in
need of TLC.
Throughout the year we
sew blankets and garments
for our missionaries to
distribute wherever they
see the need.
Each meeting is a time
of sharing friendship,
food and spiritual blessings
as well a being tangibly
productive.
John 3:18-19
